Review by Hugh Barney
The highlights for me were: 'House of the Rising Sun' which was a totally unexpected delight. The crystal clear Desolation Row which was immediately followed by a totally romantic 'Spirit on the water'. And the moment when world peace fell upon 7000 people in the audience when Bob sang Nettie Moore. For a few minutes all those people who insist on walking around sloshing their cup of lager over the floor or over your back stopped and stood still in their tracks. I cant over stress how good Bobs voice was tonight. No tiredness, no rasping, very little upsinging, just sweetness and blues and fun. Really hope some bootlegs surface at some point or Columbia release that long overdue live albumn. There are quite a few of us who will be first in the queue when that happens.
...
All in all a great evening. Desolation Row, Spirit on the Water, Nettie Moore worth the price of the ticket. At one point I shouted Judas! but I dont think anyone heard me :-)

Review by Arthur Deakin
Who else can go from hard rock to gentle, rolling, music overlayed by wonderful words delivered with passion & conviction? Pause for reflection through Bye & Bye & Honest then, the second highlight - the newish version of Masters of War: great stuff well received all round. Whole concert now reaching new hights: Summer Days went on for its usual staggering length: a joyful piece mixing all sorts of musical influences delivered with great style & enjoyment by all on stage, but especially himself. Then expected Cat's in the Well but out of Bob's hat came "If not for you" another treat. LARS & Watchtower as dessert. What a night. Yet more jutification for going to see the old man as many times as possible in one tour: every night's significantly different, and in their different ways, every night is a revelation. Rock on, Bob!

Review by Eben Hensby
After Blowin' In The Wind, we were all cheering. I was just thinking that if I were Bob I wouldn't bother coming back out (I was thinking this before Love Sick as well). When he did, I was hoping for All Along The Watchtower (which absolutely kicked ass in earlier 2002) but they rolled into Highway 61 Revisited. Bob was finally getting into it with knee bends and his eyebrows shooting up, but, as I already said, it was too little too late. The Newcastle show was over, and so far Kait and I were immensely disappointed. The crowd was horrible, security was bad, Bob's guitar solos were terrible, his harmonica was less than great, and he just wasn't trying with his performance in general. But I had faith that Bob would do much better the next night in Manchester…I mean, how couldn't he? With that reassurance, we got ready for Manchester…

Review by Markus Prieur
The show stopper this time was another of his first-time-in-Europe performances, a magnificent "STANDING IN THE DOORWAY", which by itself was worth the price of admission. Superb phrasing! It was the eighth (!) song from "Time Out Of Mind" in five shows. This time Bob conveyed his conviction, that even when the flesh falls off of his face, someone will be there to care. Must be his Lord and Savior, who touched him so many times with his nail scarred hand and who will lead him beyond this burning sand. Bob sure is ready to go.
