Review by Reinald Purman

Chimes of Freedom” was very well done,  partly triumphant and hypnotic, expressing hope for a change. “Levee gonna Break” is not one of my fovourites, but  in this night it was very well done, with a lot of energy from the band and his really good singing. For this song it was the “day only the Lord can make”.  Another highlight was “Shooting Star”, delivered from center-stage. --  Unfortunately The Man did not touch a guitar all the night. But for me this was a little  compensated later with a very soft, quiet version of “Dignity” (I like this song for a lot reasons and because he mentioned my name in it, claimin I’m lookin’ through painted glass  ;->.). HWY 61 was delivered as the hymn it is and well received..  MoW and Nattie Mooore were well done, but I’ve heard both songs better in 2007. Summer Days was a crowd-pleasing rocker. All in all a good concert and a good start.  Remarkable was that the band (on left side) and Dylan (right side) are standing nearly opposite on the stage, as if Dylan wants to make sure that no one can break out for an unwanted soloing. For “Watchtower” he should have allowed a little more guitar work(…this song must be done fuckin' loud – tonight this was only at the end of song) They finished at "5 to 10" as Joey said. I  am happy to see The Man in good form, very relaxed and in fine voice, his band as tight as ever. And: Beyond here lies Berlin !          If the server serves me well

At the end he stood there with two harps. I really thouht he would throw them into the crowd. but he just walked away. damnit. And band introduction with place of birth of all band members.

Review by per Jakobsen
Good and concentrated playing and singing. Everything came from the stage to the audience in a better and more laid back way than in Aalborg. In my opinion.

Review by Swen Lewandowski

Bob Dylan at the Stadionsporthalle Hannover, April 13, 2002 It was a cold and rainy afternoon when I left my flat and went to the Stadionsporthalle which is one of the worst venues I´ve ever been too. None the less it was at this venue where Dylan performed Ring Them Bells two years ago. Waiting outside the venue the soundcheck could easily be heard - at least if you were not standing at the entrance but at the side of the venue. There were glass doors, a hall way behind them and other door. Between them there was a little gap. If you tried hard you were able to to look through. Most of the time Larry could be seen, but after a while a member of the security came through the door and I was able to see the whole stage. And there he was: a little man in a black jacket and a grey pulloer with a hood. And as you can bet - the hood covered his head. But by the way the man moved and played harp you could tell that it was him. Well, during the sound check they performed intrumental versions of the follwing songs: Solid Rock, Watching The River Flow, Just Like Tom Thumb´s Blues, Make You Feel My Love, The Wicked Messenger, Rainy Day Women, Things Have Changed, All Along The Watchtower and some instrumental tune I wasn´t able to recognize. Sounded to me like they were trying to get their guitars in tuneÖ A while after they finished soundcheck and some more rain had poured on me, the doors were opened and the crowd rushed in.

Review by Swen Lewandowski
As the show went on Dylan seemed to enjoy himself more and more, so that I wondered why the always opens with acoustic songs; he seems to enjoy the electric ones much more ! The regular set ended with Leopard Skin Pill-Box Hat - like always. But tonight there was an unexpected and unplaned surprise. Dylan once again had problems with his guitar and so he put it aside and took his harp instead. Although he was only playing few different tunes, witch he repeated for quite a long time, it was fun and he got a big cheer as he finished. The six encores where the usual ones, but they all sounded

Review by Wolfgang Strehl

It was probably one of the best cconserts i have ever heard. he was in a fantastic mood. hold his electric guitar as if he was dancing with his sweetheart. but he played superb. the whole band. he played harp at pill box hat - if i kremembered that properly - because his guitar broke or something like that. it was a prettyx nice stuation on the stage: dylan always together with cambell, both throwing riffs to the other. both, tomorrow and it ain't me babe fantastic. hard to find out what it is with ring them bells. desolation row, the first time i heard him playing this, very good. the audience was frantic. i didn't heard anybody, who was dissatisfied with the concert. Dylan played exactly 2 hours. at the end he showed thumb up to the audience. both completely bathed in sweat.
